The Arixo center,a modern space at the service of culture.
The Arixo is an anachronistic cinema and museum complex !
In effect, within a restored farm building one discovers the novelties of 7th Century art in partnership with a cinema “Parvis 65” and an innovative museum.
A convivial facility of stone, wood and slate it offers information on new and original technologies in an interactive manner about the fascinating history of the region.
The layout of the interior of the museum allows a complete and enjoyable presentation of the heritage of the valley. Here is a space dedicated to religious art so precious in this valley with its numerous roman churches, an ethnologic room presenting the daily life of these villages, the knowledge of development of the houses.... and in addition, the more intimate aspect of the Italian theatre that shows a family scene at the end of the 19th century.
Heritage Room:
* The valleys of Louron and Bareilles comprise 20 villages and a number of important churches. Interactive terminals allow one to visit them via commentary and photos.
* In addition, there is a model of the valley and the villages. One can admire the reproduction of statues and painted murals which decorate the churches, such as “Adam and Eve” (16th century) at Anéran or the “Last Judgement” (16th century) at Vielle Louron.
* The Italian theatre which recreates the scene at the end of the 19th century of the Louron cadets, coming back from Spain by the Claramide road. Recalling the hydroelectric workers at the Caillauas lake.
SaMountain and nature exhibition
