Parapente and Delta-Wing
The free flight site of the Vallée du Louron is one of the most attractive in the Pyrenees, in summer and winter.
In effect, the rounded mountain pastures offer easy take off at various altitudes and in many directions.
In contrast the landing area, is long enough that a flier can easily land, is situated next to the lake and offers a most convivial site. The topography of the valley and its orientation produce ideal aeronautical conditions for learning the parapente technique.
Finally, a unique advantage in the Pyrenees: ten take off spots for high quality flying are available using the same landing area.
This makes the Vallée du Louron a “Mecca” for free flight in the Pyrenees.
Two flying schools for parapente and one delta-wing school offer, throughout the year, courses for novices as well as experienced fliers, from first steps through to fully qualified including take offs from the snow stations in the winter.
